We are Among the Best MBTI Practitioners in the United States
If you are looking for Myers-Briggs Training for your organization, consider this: The quality and practicality of your MBTI program has little to do with the indicator itself, and everything to do with the practitioner – the person who is giving you the indicator and conducting your training program.
There are many, many people who administer and interpret the MBTI for organizations, but very few people who are true experts, having both deep knowledge of the underlying theory, a hold on the psychometric properties of the instrument, and the practical experience of having trained those trainers who are using the instrument.
The People Skills Group is uniquely positioned to provide you with that level of expertise. Cindy Paris is an MBTI Master Practitioner, which requires a demonstrated level of expertise beyond the Certified Practitioner. Ms. Paris has been using the MBTI since 1999 and has personally conducted the Qualification Training for hundreds of trainers nationwide to become Certified Practitioners. She uses the MBTI as the foundational core of many of her programs, rather than as a one-off adjunct to team or leadership development programs. Her focus is on implementing the instrument so that your team and organization can realize true and practical results.
If you have provided MBTI training for your teams in the past but did not really used it after the initial training, or felt like it was superfluous, then you have not taken advantage of the power of the instrument.
About the MBTI
After 60 years, the MBTI is still the most widely use personality instrument in the world, and still holds first place for the most widely used tool in Fortune 100 companies. Over 3 million assessments are administered annually. It is used for a myriad of applications in organizations, and its use extends well beyond the work place to counseling, career selection, and spiritual applications.
The indicator was created by Myers and Briggs so that everyday people could have access to the theory of psychological type that was created by Carl Jung‘s 40 years of observing human behavior.
At its most basic level, the theory states that most seemingly random human behavior is due to observable differences in cognitive functioning. Our behavior as humans is colored by how get our energy and how we take in information or perceive, and how we make decisions, or judge. Our energy preference combines with our thinking processes to yield eight different ways, or tools, that we all use to get along in the world. We have a certain amount of energy for using some tools over others; this is what determines our typology, or psychological type.
Depending on how we are energized and how we think, we will differ in our communication style, learning style, ways in which we approach work, what we focus on, how we make decisions and how we manage stress. The more we know about how we function, the more we can make a choice to move out of our habits of mind and select ways of being that support us getting our needs met in every facet of life.
