What They Are Saying
“Thank goodness for Google . . . at least in the sense that a Google Search (“best team-building consultants philly”) led us to Cindy and The People Skills Group! Cindy was a pleasure to work with from our initial inquiry call, through detailed planning calls, through the delivery of two outstanding team-wide workshops for the Division of University Advancement at Rowan University.
Cindy is a highly energetic, fun, honest, knowledgeable, and super-engaging presenter. (She also has an amazing capacity for learning and memorizing names, by the way!) Most of our team members have worked together for years, but I think it’s fair to say that we learned more about each other – how we take in and process information, and communicate that information, and approach problem-solving – in two sessions with Cindy than we could have possibly expected. I have no doubt that all of us would agree that each of us has a much keener, empathetic understanding of where are teammates are “coming from” than we did prior to working with Cindy.
When approaching Myers-Briggs training, Cindy is first and foremost an expert teacher. She emphasizes the Eight Dominant Functions which, at first, was a bit challenging. Cindy is so good at providing real-life examples and coupling those examples with research-based data, that it wasn’t long at all before all of us had a great handle on the concepts we were using, which allowed us to apply them to the many exercises we did. (Cindy also provided us with lots of excellent, readily accessible materials to use during our sessions and also to read and refer to later on.)
One of the things I liked best about Cindy’s overall approach is that in addition to learning a great deal about ourselves individually, we were able to begin to see what all the “pieces of the puzzle” look like and how they fit together when we examine ourselves from the perspectives of individual departments, and our team as a whole. I’m certain that, as a result of partnering with Cindy, we have the tools to become a more harmonious, productive team than we already were. Thank you, Cindy!”
Vice President for Advancement & Executive Director, Rowan University
“Cindy provided an outstanding workshop to my global team—smart, thought-provoking and really useful. An energizing and provocative presenter, she explained the concept of the Myers-Briggs Type, helped each team member to identify and understand their Type and what each Type means in terms of how we naturally communicate and what we like in communication from others; she then took us beyond this, leading us through exercises that highlighted our natural tendencies in problem solving—how we absorb and act on external information—and where our natural “blind spots” or hurdles may be.
The workshop was fascinating, and my team learned an enormous amount about themselves and each other. One of the great things about Cindy as a presenter is that she makes sure that the material is applicable and helpful—in our case, she tailored the workshop, using specific materials, to our company mission, values, and structure—so that we could put the information to use in a very real way. Cindy’s a true expert in her field and I hope to get her back for Round 3 in the future!”

“It was a real privilege to be able to work with Cindy who put an outstanding MBTI program together for myself and my leadership team. Cindy is great at explaining what personality type is and how to apply it in the work environment. I found her to be extremely patient and very honest in the conversations she had with me and my team. Many of the members of my team were skeptical when we started working with Cindy, but the MBTI language soon became part of the fabric of our team culture. Cindy’s ability to appreciate the diversity of my team and to listen carefully for what each of the members required, made all the difference in the world. Through Cindy’s efforts, we transformed my staff into a team who appreciated and valued the diversity of personality types we had around the table. What a difference!
“I will be forever indebted to Cindy for the excellent job she did with my team and hope we can soon work together again.”

“The Montgomery County Foundation, Inc. engaged Cindy Paris as a presenter for its 2016 Women and Leadership Forum for a large regional audience. Cindy opened the program with a strong, very well-received workshop on Women, Leadership and Emotional Intelligence. Her presentation was interactive, and skill-building, and left the audience with enough practical information to begin their own emotional intelligence development planning. Cindy was exceptionally pleasant to work with throughout the process – professional, responsive and collaborative at every turn and she made a meaningful contribution to the Forum.”

“I have had the opportunity to work with Cindy with multiple groups and in different capacities (facilitator, coach, MBTI resource). She is a true partner and a phenomenal facilitator. She reads the room expertly and, using a blend of humility, humor and deep technical knowledge, creates a customized and highly engaging workshop. Her ‘between workshop’ guidance and interaction is concise and practical. She provides really useful tools, which make it easy to keep new learning front of mind. It is such a pleasure to work with her; I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the People Skills Group and will certainly consider Cindy for future development programs.”

“I had taken the Myers-Briggs several times before but never appreciated the value of the exercise until I participated in Cindy’s program. She is artfully able to translate your results into tools that you can use in the workplace. I now look at my colleagues with greater understanding. Cindy’s presentation style and materials are clear and easy to understand. I would recommend her and her program without hesitation. It was extremely valuable.”

“Cindy had worked closely with my executive team to help us understand how to better communicate with each other and our reports. The sessions were interesting and highly informative. Not only did we learn how to communicate better, we also learned a great deal about ourselves in the process. My colleagues were engaged and looked forward to Cindy’s sessions. Her expertise in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator helped us understand the results of the assessment and, furthermore, allowed us to create an actionable plan for personal and professional growth.”

“Cindy’s work with our Executive team, our full team and each of us individually, was transformative. Her ‘System of Energy’ approach to the MBTI and Type provided us with a window into how our team inter-operates and performs. As a result, we have modified our operating procedures to better accommodate everyone’s style, resolved conflicts and created a common language that helps us navigate communication challenges inside and outside the company.”

“From the beginning, Cindy Paris from The People Skills Group, was committed to more than a box standard Myers-Briggs training for our professional service firm. She consistently brings positive energy into the room when working with our colleagues. Not only did she work hard to lay the foundation in MBTI theory, she then moved on to practical ways our multifunctional teams could apply concepts in practice. Her customized workshops provide insights to the various work styles at play in our particular organization. We are currently looking forward to Cindy’s facilitation of a Leadership workshop, in which we intend to invest in our in-house talent and equip them to be mindful leaders for their internal and external teams.”

“It gives me a great pleasure to write about Cindy Stengel Paris. I have more than twenty years’ experience in organizational development, leadership development and the training of adult learners. It was my good fortune to have had Cindy as my instructor for the MBTI Certification program recently. The class was successful due to Cindy’s skill in rapport building, creating a safe learning environment for participants to grasp complex concepts, and her ability to provide one-on-one attention to each person. Cindy displays an uncanny proficiency in translating the depth of her knowledge and consulting experiences in a way that complements the course material.
“Cindy is open-minded, intelligent, warm and works very hard for her students. Classes are structured in a way that meets all the requirements for adult learners and Cindy makes it fun. I recommend Cindy with no reservations.”

“The recent workshop for our Directors was outstanding! We wanted a program that was interactive, meaningful, and valuable to our work together as a team, and Cindy more than met our needs. Cindy was engaging, inspiring, well organized, and knowledgeable. Her facilitation skills were excellent as you kept us on task, actively communicating during the day with a variety of exercises, and thinking ahead of ways to apply our new knowledge personally and professionally. “I met Cindy through the Delaware Valley Association for Psychological Type (DVAPT) when she was President. Her leadership in the organization and enthusiasm for the MBTI® instrument and its ethical use were apparent. I later qualified for the MBTI with Cindy and Type Resources; she expertly facilitated a diverse group of trainees of various types and from different backgrounds. She has a wide repertoire of tools and skills and found a way to target our different types with a satisfying training. Each of us walked away having successfully completed our qualifying program and well prepared to conduct MBTI assessments and trainings. I have since conducted over a dozen trainings and can say that her mentorship of the instrument has served me well. She continues to be a resource for new tools and tips through her website.”
“Cindy and her team provided an excellent MBTI® session for one of my large client groups at Tyco International. The entire team thoroughly enjoyed it and it exceeded the expectations of our Senior Vice President. I hope to have other opportunities to work with Cindy.”
“Cindy helped facilitate a senior management retreat for us, and I could not have been more pleased with the results. She took a new management team and helped with the critical ‘on-boarding’ process that is so fundamental for long-term success. Beginning with an intensive two-day retreat, Cindy helped us learn more about ourselves and how to work better with each other through her expert knowledge of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator tools. Not only is Cindy extremely knowledgeable about the material and skilled at facilitating a group, she is a delight to interact with. I highly recommend her services for any organization trying to improve their staff’s effectiveness. Her training and the skills learned are tools that we can now use internally with each other, it has given us a better understanding of communicating in general that we use with our external clients and even in our personal lives.”

“I engaged Cindy Paris of The People Skills Group to specifically address issues related to our Development and Construction teams that were not working well together. Cindy quickly identified the underlying causes of the communication breakdown, the most blatant one being the VP team working within ‘silos’ rather than as a united team. Through training and coaching of team members from the VP level down, Cindy taught us how to build trust, manage conflict, and work as a team to foster commitment and accountability. We have seen positive and sustained changes in how our teams work together to produce a better product.”

“Cindy Paris of the People Skills Group facilitated team development programs for our Construction and Development groups that work together in one small office. As the leader of that team I can say that prior to the training, the groups from the two departments were at odds with each other and worked as separate entities. The team training provided us with insights into how we can work together as one team with common goals. Cindy provided us with the knowledge and tools for helping us to understand ourselves better, our teammates better and provided a structure for us to follow in our continued efforts to build a strong team. Personally, her follow-up through individual coaching has enabled me to develop my leadership skills in order to mentor the team efforts going forward.”

“Cindy has fundamentally changed the way I relate to others in my personal and professional life. She puts wheels on Myers-Briggs by putting everyone at ease and leading them through interesting and challenging individual and group exercises. Our employees saw immediate benefits and positive change which made us a more productive team. I would recommend hiring Cindy’s group if you want your team to become more efficient and work better together.”

“Cindy was engaged to provide me with one-on-one professional coaching over the course of 18 months. Utilizing the MBTI, Cindy enabled me to better understand myself and others. A thorough self-examination of both my personal and professional lives, along with the understanding of the components of type, changed the way I view myself and interact with others. Cindy’s training allowed me to recognize and employ various communications styles, understand and build upon my strengths and weaknesses, manage stress and conflict situations, and expand my self-confidence. She provided me with the knowledge of my personality type, increasing my ability to build positive relationships, foster teamwork and develop my leadership skills. Cindy is not only a talented and skilled professional, but personable and humorous. I would recommend Cindy’s methods of coaching to anyone who wants to develop both personally and professionally.”
“I hired Cindy to do a one-day workshop for my team, and she did a fantastic job. She was extremely well prepared for each of us, provided us with an insightful program, and engaged us throughout the process with expertise and good humor. She got even our more skeptical team members on board and had us laughing while we learned of our potential communication weaknesses. Cindy also guided us in how to apply our newfound awareness, a crucial piece of the process, without which awareness might be less valuable. Excellent job!”

“As an educator, it is important to have depth of knowledge and the ability to communicate that knowledge. Cindy Stengel Paris demonstrates credibility in both – her knowledge of Psychological Type and her ability to facilitate seminars with warmth and professionalism makes her one of the best and most credible instructors around.”

“Over the years I had not been successful in developing good rapport with certain personality types at prospective clients, and as a result had lost some business opportunities. So I asked Cindy to help me better understand my own personality type, to recognize other types that I was likely to (unwittingly) clash with, and how to ‘flex’ my style to reduce or avoid these problems. Cindy used her outstanding professional expertise to design and take me through a series of 1-on-1 coaching sessions that were very helpful. The reference materials and exercises she provided were excellent. She made the step by step process extremely productive, and at the same time a lot of fun. So I would not hesitate to recommend Cindy to both individuals and groups that need expert help to quickly resolve interpersonal problems that are hindering effective performance.”

“I have known Cindy for 10 years and have seen her deliver training programs on at least a dozen occasions. She is a ROLE MODEL trainer! Her stand-up skills (voice tone, pitch and projection; non-verbals) are just superb. In addition to this, her command of the theory and application of psychological type are world class. If you need someone to help you with ‘type’, she will not disappoint!”
“Cindy is facilitator and coach par excellence. She’s well versed in personality models, team meeting design, facilitation, and communication models. I’m delighted to have known and collaborated with Cindy for 6 years. She relates to people in all stages of life, providing support and insight regarding life and business challenges. A professional to the core, she’s dependable, smart, and instinctively aware of what people need, has a great sense of humor, and is enjoyable to work with.”
